So, in the last 5 lessons, we have been discussing how to eat your meals to burn fat.
Today, I will be teaching you exactly what you should be drinking on your weight loss journey.
Now, before we get into the details of this lesson, let's first discuss what you should avoid drinking that could actually hinder your weight loss journey.
In fact, what you should avoid drinking if your goal is weight loss can be summarized in two words: liquid calories.
What are liquid calories?
Liquid calories, as the name suggests, are calories that come from drinks. They are often referred to as "empty calories" because they do not provide much nutritional value.
An example of a liquid calorie is your morning beverage (milk, Milo, and sugar or honey.)
Here is why these liquid calories are bad for you:
Remember what I taught you about bad carbs? I explained how they quickly raise blood sugar levels.
Liquid calories are even worse for blood sugar levels because they are in liquid form and contain no fiber at all.
So, they do not have to be broken down by the digestive system as much.
This means that they go straight to your bloodstream and raise it up instantly. And if you are already insulin resistant, your blood sugar will remain high for a long time before normalizing. And while it is high, your body is storing every food you are eating as fat.
This is really bad because liquid calories do not provide the same level of satiety as solid calories.
This means that we may not feel as full after drinking a sugary drink as we would after eating a piece of fruit.
As a result, we usually pair this liquid calorie with another food just to feel satisfied for a while.
For example, most people usually take sodas like Coke, Fanta, etc. with meat pies, cakes, buns, etc.
This is a really terrible combination for weight loss because your body goes on to store that food you paired with the liquid calorie as fat since your blood sugar is high and it sends a message to your body to enter into fat storage mode.
In fact, another problem that arises when we consistently consume liquid calories over time is insulin resistance. And I explained what happens when you become insulin resistant in Lesson 1.
So, I suggest you try as much as possible to avoid every form of liquid calories. And if you must consume them, it should be less frequent. Maybe on some special occasion like your birthday.
Here are some forms of liquid calories to stay away from:
What you should be drinking on your weight loss journey
Now that you have learned some drinks to avoid in your weight loss journey, the next question is, what should someone looking to lose weight be drinking?
Honestly, it’s a no-brainer.
What you drink alone will not help you lose weight.
If you’re spending your money on some Chinese slimming teas and expensive supplements, please stop.
You have been deceived and lied to with all their marketing gimmicks.
If those teas worked, why do people spend millions on surgery when they can buy teas for a lesser amount?
Hear the truth…
Slimming teas do not burn fat. In fact, if I go on to explain how this slimming teas work, you will discover that you are actually harming your organs by taking them.
It is important to note that taking these drinks I will be mentioning below will not guarantee weight loss. You still need to eat a healthy diet and move your body in order to see results.
Some best drinks you can have on your weight loss journey include:
Again, it is important to note that drinking these drinks alone will not lead to weight loss. However, drinking these drinks can be a helpful addition to your weight loss plan.
